Maybe if it continues I'd do some paragraph here outlining my thoughts on the year as a whole outside of film, but you don't need someone else telling you how bad this year was, you know. In terms of film however, I'd say this was one of the strongest years we've had in a while. With one pretty notable exception, all of the really great films were pretty close in quality so I had a hard time deciding what order to put things in. Also, with all of the well-recieved films coming out this year (and the fact that I had more time to see stuff this year) there ended up being some pretty big surprises, with sleeper hits I ended up loving, acclaimed films that didn't land with me and a rare year where most of the divisive films I saw didn't end up landing ...
